The Mauritius Mine at Hřebečná was the largest tin mine on the Czech side of the Ore Mountains. It had been in continuous operation for four centuries – from the 1550s until 1944. Due to its uniqueness, the mine working has been declared a national cultural monument in 2014 and it is a significant component part of the combined Saxony and Czech application for the inscription of the Mining Cultural
Landscape Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
